Victoria, BC,Cumberland BC, Campbell River BC, Courtenay BC

We got to our cousins house late at night when they were sleeping. As we were talking my little cousin (Alex) woke up and we all started playing together and didn't go to bed until about two in the morning. The next day we woke up and my other cousin (Oban) was surprised that we were there so early because he thought we we were coming later that night. We got to look around the town and see the different shops.  On Easter long weekend, we and my aunt, uncle, and cousins went to a hotel in Victoria for 3 nights.  Oban had a soccer tournament on the Saturday and Sunday.  We walked all over town by the inner harbour for the days that we were there.  We walked through the narrowest public access way in all of Canada; it was in China town.  It was so cool -- you could do the Spiderman crawl up between the too walls.  China town was really neat.  We took a boat tour and learned about the area, like hobos take over abandoned boats and live in them for free in the best part of the city.  My brother thought that was so cool and wanted to do that.  My mom and dad and aunt and uncle went to an Indian restaurant with a bunch of my aunt and uncle's friends, and then they went to the Empress for some drinks.  On Easter all the Easter eggs were hidden in the hotel rooms.  We also each found a chocolate bunny.  My mom and aunt went with some friends to ariel yoga which they thought was cool.  We did a lot of swimming in the pool.  We also went to Beacon Park and held some goats and pet some chickens.
Yesterday, Owen and I went with our cousin Oban on his class field trip to Campbell River Museum.  My mom was one of the drivers.  We learned how the native people made their paints out of oker (red), charcoal (black), and sea shells (white), and that they made it waterproof by crushing it with salmon eggs.  We got to make our own paint and make a style of painting using the traditional techniques of different tribes.  Also, 150 years ago, the native people made their clothes out of cedar inner bark strips and weaved them together.  It was also my mom's birthday yesterday, so we all walked over to the best bakery in Cumberland where they have the best donuts and we all got a huge apple fritter.  My dad took her out to a nice restaurant called the Old House in Courtenay.  They had seafood.
All of us kids are working on different things to make for selling at the Cumberland market.  I am knitting different things like wallets and a little dog, and the boys are carving wood.

Victoria is a nice city to visit. We also went to that Indian museum in Campbell River. You can learn a lot from the Indians! Today is Alex birthday, you can write about that next time. Love you , oma xoxo
