Edmonton Alberta to Ontario!

When we went to Edmonton there was a huge mall that we went to. In the mall there was a huge water park, we didn't end up going though because it was too expensive. Also in the middle of the mall there was a big tank that had two seals in it.  Well we were at the mall we got some frozen yogurt that had these little bead things in it that are the shape of fish eggs, but has different types of juices in it, so when you bit it, it squirts out in your mouth. We didn't stay long in Edmonton, but it was really fun there. For the next few days we drove pretty much all day everyday, from Alberta to Ontario. Well we were driving we kept our eye out for animals but didn't really see any. Today we got to a campsite at around 9;00, but tried to go fishing on the river even though it was pretty dark, Owen was the the only one who ended up catching a fish, it was big but too bony to eat so we let it go.

We got to Jasper and checked out the town and the shops. The next day we went on a hike and we found a hole bunch of cool rocks at a river that is in the camp site that we are staying in. When we got back from the hike we showed Mackenzie and she wanted to go back and look for some.  The next day Mackenzie and my mom went back to look for some more rocks. Later we went to another hiking spot, and on the way we saw a black bear that was walking on the side of the road right beside us, well we were in jasper we saw about 5 black bears that were walking beside the road were we were driving.  When we got to the hiking spot there were misquotes swarming the car, nobody wanted to get out so we did't go on the hike.  On the way back we saw the black bear again. When it got dark we had to go to bed early because we had to wake up at nine to drive to a Glacier that we got to walk on. The bus that took us up had huge tires and at one point when we were in the bus driving to the glacier we went down a really steep hill, when we got to the top it was awesome and there was Glacier water that we filled up our water bottles with. After we saw the glacier we went to the sky walk that was also there it was so cool because it was all made out of glass and you could see all the mountains from were you were standing.

After we left Roger's Roost, we arrived at a campground a days drive away from my dad's friend Marc's house.  At the campground we celebrated Mackenzie's birthday.  Our dad made an amazing dinner of Greek salad and chicken.  For desert, we had lemon meringue pie and ice cream.  We downloaded the new move Beauty and the Beast to watch, but when we tried to start it, it would not play!  When we got to Marc's house, we were parking the bus and we scraped the road so much with the trailer hitch that it teared it up. When we got there, Marc's kids, Keagan, Kaitlyn,Sidney and Madison showed us around their house and we showed them the bus.  Keagan went to a concert and he played the ukulele and Madison had to babysit.  While they were at the concert and babysitting, Sidney, Katelyn, Ben, Mackenzie, Megan and Owen had a water gun fight and the girls had the hose which was not fair (according to the boys). The next day that we were there, the kids got to skip school but the night before we stayed up so late that everyone woke up around noon.  On the weekend, there is always a market, so we all went there to go see the stands.  On the ride there, all the kids were telling us about the tornado potatoes that are usually there, but we didn't see them.  Later that day, we went to Prince Rupert.  At Prince Rupert, we went to a Sea Festival and the tornado potato truck was there, but the line was too big so we didn't get one.  On Sunday all the kids, my dad and Marc played street hockey.  The girls were against the boys, plus my dad, on the girls team.  The game went on for around two hours, and at the start the boys were winning, but the the girls caught up to them, and at the end it was nine-nine, and the winning goal went to ... the girls! later we went to a beach but when we got there there as so many mosquitoes that we were all so itchy after.  Before we went to bed, the kids planned to wake up at five in the morning because we had to leave the next day.  So we did all end up waking up at five in the morning, and we went in the hot tub for a little bit then after watched  a movie, then we went up for breakfast, and we did this all before the other kids had to go to school.  A bit after, we left and arrived at Red Ceder campground in Prince George.

The night before we left Cumberland we had a little celebration for Oban's and Mackenzie's birthday. For their birthdays we had huge bowls of ice cream.  The first two nights we stopped at whistler RV campground, while we were there we checked out the different villages.  The views at the camp ground were amassing.  We went on B.C sketchiest highway to get over a huge mountain.  We went to a lake on the mountain were there was still a whole bunch of snow and a huge glacier. For the night we stopped at a small campground in Lillooet were people would go to find gold in the river, a lot of people would go home with flakes of gold of even chunks!  We tried to dig for some, but never found any.  After another long drive, we stopped at a campground called 'Roger's Roost".  In Quesnell, while we were there, we met some kids who were around our age.  When it got dark, we played manhunt around the campground.  We were supposed to be in bed by 11 but we played until 12:15.

Tofino

Last weekend we went yo a small town on the Pacific ocean called Tofino.  The cottage we were staying in was super nice, there was a hot tub on the deck, were you saw all the waves splash of the rocks from th ocean.  The first day we got there we went down to an awesome white sandy beach. On the beach there was crabs, star fish in the rocks, sea erchents, and fish eggs that got washed up on the shore.  The next day we we went to town, looked at some stores, and rented surf gear, for surfing we went to a beach called cocks bay. Every person who went surfing wore a wet suit because the ocean was so cold. On Monday we cleaned up the cottage we were staying in. On our way back to the campsite we went to a taco truck called "Tacofino" and went on a hike in the rainforest.

This week in Cumberland

Five days ago Ben, my dad, Oban, tunta sa, and I went mountain biking for about an hour and a half.  we were on the logging roads  and at the top of the hill there was a bulldozer that was blocking the trail. So we had to go through a river and over a a dirt pile.  then we started biking for a wile longer and we got to a trail called the crafty bunch . then we were biking for a while longer and got to the house .

 On Sunday all the parents went to a hotel in Courtney for the night. before the parents left around lunch time we all got a jumbo freeze. It was a nice and sunny day so we went on a walk through a trial in the forest and played at the park. we it started to get dark we watched a movie called Brother Bear. The next day Alex and Oban didn't have to go to school, so me and Alex did some sewing and the boys went to the park. that day when the parents came back they had to go to work.

On Tuesday My mom and Owen were cleaning the car. at 11:00 I went to baby sit a baby named Mealeyn. when I was baby sitting the lady who i was babysitting for had to go to an appointment and do some arens so I was in charge of watching Mealey.

On Wednesday  our dad went back to Toronto for work so me (Owen) and Ben were at the bus by ourselves.  when me and Ben were at the bus Mackenzie was getting a massage by tenta sa.  so me and Ben biked to tunta sa and uncle Jamies house and we made up a dance and went to Costco. At Costco they had a whole bunch of taste testers for different things, our favorite one was the chocolate covered blueberries.

On Thursday I (Megan) went to baby sitting again for a few hours, well the lady I was babysitting for cleaned her house. When I got back I waited for my mom to come and pick me up. When she came she brought Owen with her. We then went and picked up Alex from school. When it was dark we watched a movie at the bus called the amazing Spider man.

On Friday we went on a hike in the forest at our camp ground.  while we were walking I (Owen) put my hand on a slug that was supper big.  Ben and Mackenzie left early to go canoeing. when they left my mom and i kept walking and we saw a small water fall witch was cool.when we got back my mom ben and Mackenzie went canoeing again.

Today mom went to go pick up my dad from the air port, well me(Megan) and my siblings cleaned up the bus so it would look nice when they came back. After we cleaned up we all did our on thing until my parents came back. later my mom and dad went on a canoe ride, we all stayed at the bus because Alex and Oban were coming. when they got here we went to the park and played outside.

 Crabbing

 When we went crabbing, the boy,s my dad, Uncle Jamie, and Tante Sacha all went on the dock and put down the crab net and waited to pull it up when a crab went on it.  We had 3 crab traps and some fishing rods.  Alex(our cousin), Mackenzie, my mom, and Megan went on the beach that is there. While we were down on the beach the tide was going out and the beach was getting bigger. when we walked along the edges we found a whole bunch of starfish that were alive and in the sand since the tide was going out. Alex and Megan collected all of them and put them back in the water but around two minutes later the tide went out even more so they were out of the water again so we moved them all once again and kept doing that but every time the tide went out even more starfish were out of the water so eventually we got bored of doing that so we stared digging up clams that were in the sand. While we were digging up claims, my mom found a big crab that was crawling along the beach so we caught it and brought it over to the boys who were on the dock.  The boys caught a hole bunch of crabs but only 8 were big enough to eat in total.  Megan was the first one to catch a crab with a plastic bag on shore.  The rest of the crabs that were big enough to eat were caught with the crab traps.  We had crabs, muscles, clams, tuna and salad for dinner.

The Goose Spit 

On a nice sunny day we all went to the spit which is almost like a small island but is still attached by a little bit to the main land, and that also had a beach that went all around it. As we walked we saw so much drift wood washed up on the beach and a lot of shells. A quarter of the way through some of us had to leave so it ended up just being my mom, Mackenzie, Alex and I (Megan).  Around half way through we stopped at a cool little sun fort that someone made out of drift wood and things that they found on the beach. At the end we all ended up having a huge arm full of drift wood in our hands.

Going to Costco, Canoeing and Camping

Yesterday just our family went to Costco, when we got there all the kids went to the food area a got a whole bunch of samples.  Mom and I (Owen) went canoeing in Cumberland Lake.  We are camping there right on the lake now.  We are still really close to our cousins so they come after school for dinner and to play.   Ben has been volunteering at Cumberland School and Cumberland Lake Park so he can get his volunteer hours for high school.  

Nanimo,BC

Today we went to Nanimo and went to a store called Cabela's which is like an outdoor store. The boys both got some weapons, Ben got a bebe gun type thing and Owen got two knifes and a hatchet. I also got some new very comfortable summer shoes.  My dad got a fishing license so we can go fishing.  Our cousins came over.  We went canoeing again and had fish and chips for dinner that we cooked outside.
